Sr. Project Manager, Transmission and Distribution

Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for cost estimates and general operational oversight of various Transmission and Distribution electrical construction projects.

Key duties include preparing construction schedules, submitting RFIs, managing day‑to‑day project activities, acting as the main point‑of‑contact for personnel, coordinating meetings and deliverables, reporting progress, monitoring job costs versus budgets, and preparing complete labor and material cost estimates within set deadlines.

• Prepare project construction schedules and weekly/monthly progress reports.
• Submit Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients and coordinate meeting deliverables.
• Manage day‑to‑day project activities and serve as the primary contact for project personnel.
• Develop complete labor and material cost estimates and conduct field take‑offs.
• Review job costs against budgets and assist in change order preparation.
• Generate bills of material to support purchasing processes.
• Conduct field walk‑downs with customers, subcontractors, and crews to assess constructability.
• Ensure compliance with company code of conduct and industry standards.

Requirements

Ideal candidates have 10+ years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical industry, at least 2 years in transmission and distribution, and a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience). They must be knowledgeable of specifications, NEC, and technical plans, proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools, and possess strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, as well as the ability to travel regularly.

• 10+ years of project management and estimating experience in the electrical industry.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in transmission and distribution projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or equivalent experience.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office and scheduling tools such as Microsoft Project or Primavera.
• Strong analytical, organizational, verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to work independently, stay on task for extended periods, and travel regularly.
