Deputy HR Head

Description

The Deputy HR Head will be responsible for managing end-to-end HR operations at their assigned location, ensuring smooth execution of people policies, employee engagement, statutory compliance, and organizational culture. This role acts as the bridge between location employees and corporate HR leadership, driving both operational excellence and strategic initiatives.

• Resolve conflicts in a fair and transparent manner.
• Guide managers in setting goals, providing feedback, and handling performance issues.
• Identify local training needs and propose customized learning interventions.
• Implement initiatives that enhance employee morale, motivation, and retention.
• Oversee payroll, attendance, and HRIS updates for the location.
• Drive succession planning and career development initiatives.
• Drive diversity & inclusion practices in line with global culture.
• Liaise with external authorities during inspections or audits.
• Support the Location Head in aligning people strategy with business needs.
• Maintain positive industrial relations where applicable.
• Ensure smooth execution of the performance appraisal cycle.
• Lead HR for a strategic location of a global AEC technology leader.
• Work closely with central HR leadership while enjoying autonomy at the location.
• Ensure 100% compliance with labor laws, ESI, PF, Shops & Establishment Act, and other statutory requirements.
• Act as the first point of contact for employee issues and grievances.
• Partner with functional leaders to ensure effective workforce planning and capability building.
• Build a strong employee connect program at the location.
• Act as a change agent for implementing new HR programs and policies.
• Drive location-specific CSR activities, employee welfare, and community engagement.
• Oversee recruitment & on boarding at the location level, ensuring best-fit hires.
• Collaborate with central TA team to meet hiring targets on time.
• Work with central L&D to roll out training programs for skill development.
• Support leadership development and capability building at the location.

Requirements

8. CSR & Local Initiatives

Experience Required: 10–15 years in HR (at least 5 years in leadership role)

• 10–15 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 5 years in a leadership capacity.
• Proficiency in HR systems (HROne, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms).
• MBA/PGDM in Human Resources (preferred) or equivalent.
• Strong understanding of Indian labor laws and compliance requirements.
• Excellent people management, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.
• Experience in multi-location or large-scale operations preferred.
