The Director of EHS Training & Compliance oversees the development and implementation of environmental, health, safety, and driver programs, ensuring compliance with regulations such as OSHA, EPA, MUTCD, DOT, and ATSSA through training and audits. Key duties include assessing risks, creating and delivering training programs, conducting compliance audits, investigating incidents, managing EHS records, and acting as a liaison with regulatory agencies.
In this role, you will design, implement, and maintain comprehensive EHS policies, procedures, and training programs to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements.
You will identify training needs, develop and coordinate safety training for employees at all levels, and monitor training effectiveness and compliance.
Regular workplace audits and safety assessments will be conducted to identify hazards, evaluate compliance, and recommend corrective actions. Additionally, you will investigate workplace accidents, incidents, and near‑misses to determine root causes and implement preventive measures.
You will monitor adherence to EHS regulations and industry standards, maintain accurate records of safety performance, training completion, incident reports, and compliance documentation, and analyze data to identify trends and report findings to management.
The role includes designing and delivering EHS, driver, and traffic control training programs to foster a culture of safety stewardship, conducting risk assessments and audits to develop mitigation strategies, and strategically overseeing the workers’ compensation program.
A bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field is required, with a master’s preferred. Seven to nine years of relevant experience, CSP or similar certification, and strong knowledge of safety regulations are desired. Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is a plus, along with proficient skills in Microsoft Office, EHS management systems, and reporting platforms.
