The Service Manager role oversees the servicing of both company‑owned and customer equipment, ensuring timely repairs, maintenance, and availability while supporting Sunbelt’s growth as a leading national rental business.
- Manage repair and maintenance of company‑owned and customer equipment; organize yard statuses (Ready to Rent, Returned, Down).
- Prepare work schedules and respond to service calls to meet customer equipment availability.
- Order and maintain parts inventory, including returns and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Train and support staff mechanics; evaluate equipment after repairs and safety checks.
- Coordinate with equipment vendors to understand maintenance requirements for new inventory.
- Document equipment status before and after rentals; create, update, close, and bill work orders.
- Handle customer complaints related to equipment condition or operation.
- Promote safety awareness and perform quality‑control inspections.
- Maintain organized equipment service records and file warranty claims promptly.
- Commission new equipment and manage parts ordering, returns, and inventory tracking.
- Generate reports on service schedules, fleet status, work orders, warranty claims, inventory, and financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with disposal regulations for solid and hazardous material waste.

The position requires a valid driver’s license, extensive experience with self‑propelled platforms and lifts, strong planning and supervisory skills, and proficiency in reporting, inventory management, and computer systems. Physical demands include bending, lifting 50 lb or more, and work both indoors and outdoors.
