Reporting to the EESS Strategic Programs team, the Project Controls Engineer provides consistent, intimate support in managing projects. Core responsibilities include project cost tracking, cost‑estimate validation, schedule development and maintenance, purchase requisition creation, material and equipment ordering and tracking, subcontractor/vendor pricing requests, submittal generation and oversight, document control, and warranty support.
The role also develops and oversees Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) and cost milestones for revenue‑recognition projects, and supports intercompany negotiation activities by interfacing with various company resources for pricing on Eaton equipment and services.
Key duties include interfacing with other Eaton plants, services, and external vendors for solutions and price negotiations, reviewing and creating order summaries, ensuring equipment order accuracy, generating submittals and O&M manuals, maintaining project schedules and cost tracking, leading backlog and margin review meetings, handling third‑party purchase requisitions, processing Bid Manager configurations, providing technical assistance post‑order, managing intercompany warranty requests, and overseeing system factory acceptance tests.
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree with three years of experience—or an associate’s degree with five years—in engineering, sales, project management, or field service related to electrical assemblies, distribution, or power protection technology. Preferred qualifications include proficiency with systems software such as Vista, Bid Manager, COM, Oracle, QlikView, project/process management skills, knowledge of revenue recognition, strong urgency, creative problem‑solving, and Microsoft Project expertise. The position does not sponsor immigration, offers no relocation, and is limited to candidates within a 50‑mile radius of an East Coast Eaton location.
Eaton’s ES AMER ESS division is currently seeking a Project Controls Engineer. The expected annual salary range for this role is $83,250 to $122,100, with eligibility for a variable incentive program. Salary is based on candidate skills, experience, qualifications, market, and business considerations.
