This role involves mechanical design and component ownership of Compressor Rotors components.
Be a champion for Lean and continuous improvement. Develop standard work and identify creative ways to improve our processes and design methods.
Establish personal/RCA/program schedule to deliver engineering definition and analysis. Conduct technical reviews for design tasks with Controlled Title Holders (CTHs), following the documented NPI and RCA processes. Evaluate and mitigate component/system level risks.
Lead small projects with low risks and resource requirements. Develop skills to bring team members to consensus around topics within field. Conveys performance expectations and may handle sensitive issues.
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements.
Support & involvement in broad company-wide initiatives in support of GE Gas Power business objectives (i.e.P2V, Lean and Problem Solving)
Maintain strong relationships with Fleet and DLE teams. Keep abreast of ongoing field and manufacturing issues

Required skills include the ability to prioritize data for analysis, apply technical expertise and analytical thinking, and collaborate across internal teams with occasional external stakeholder engagement
Advanced engineering degree from an accredited university or college.
Master’s or bachelor’s degree in engineering from an accredited university or college; or relevant experience that would be equal to a bachelor's degree.
Demonstrated capability in collaborating in a matrixed global organization.
Has knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; is aware of the competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market
Utilizes in-depth knowledge of a discipline and analytical thinking to execute policy/strategy. Basic knowledge of related job disciplines.
Strong organizational & communication skills.
Understanding of GD&T and ability to interpret engineering drawings & BOMs.
