What you would be doing
construction docs

Develop construction documents, including structural plans, details, and specifications.
Prepare bridge load ratings and participate in rehabilitation and maintenance assessments.
Coordinate closely with roadway, traffic, and hydraulics teams to ensure smooth integration of structural components into overall project designs.
Perform structural analysis and design of concrete and steel bridges, retaining walls, noise walls, and other structural elements using AASHTO and applicable state DOT standards.
Collaborate on bridge concept reports, structure selection reports, and technical memorandums.
Support construction phase services by reviewing submittals and responding to contractor RFIs.
Create cost estimates and calculate quantities for bidding and budgeting purposes.

Professional Engineer (PE) license or in active pursuit
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel and Word
Experience with structural design software such as CSiBridge, SAP2000, Midas, PGSuper, or LEAP Concrete
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering with a structural emphasis
Experience with Bridge Load Ratings, including AASHTOWare BrR software
Experience with CAD platforms such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, AutoCAD, or Civil 3D
Familiarity with CDOT or other public agency bridge design standards
Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or ability to obtain within 6 months
Minimum 2+ years of bridge design experience
Familiarity with AASHTO and DOT design standards
Valid driver’s license and clean motor vehicle record

The posted salary range represents the typical range for this position and is provided in accordance with applicable state and local transparency laws. Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and geographic location.
