Support factory readiness and manufacturability of new designs
Collaborate with electrical engineers, test labs, and product care teams to deliver integrated solutions
Support continuous improvement initiatives and digitalization efforts within product development.
Ensure compliance with relevant standards, safety regulations, and Siemens quality processes.
Drive mechanical design and development of switchgear enclosures, assemblies, and systems
Lead and mentor a cross-functional R&D team (up to 15 engineers and technicians across two locations)
Manage projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality targets are met
Oversee prototyping, testing, and validation to meet UL, IEC, IEEE and other standards
Act as a key interface between R&D, product management, manufacturing, and other stakeholders.
Contribute to strategic planning and roadmap development with the VP of R&D

Familiarity with electrical standards (UL, IEC, IEEE) and how they apply to mechanical systems
Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship
Deep understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes
Experience working in cross-site or matrixed teams is a plus
3+ years of leadership experience, including team management or technical project leadership
Knowledge of product certification and compliance processes
Bachelor’s degree or higher in either Electrical or Mechanical Engineering (Mechanical Engineering strongly preferred)
Background in lean manufacturing, Six Sigma, or design for manufacturability
7+ years of R&D experience, ideally in medium voltage power distribution systems or switchgear
Proficiency in CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and mechanical simulation software
Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
Familiarity with digital substations, smart grid, or IoT-enabled systems
