The Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager is responsible for all environmental, health and safety functions at the home‑building facility. This role ensures compliance with training programs, identifies and eliminates hazards, reduces accidents, and minimizes environmental impact. The manager influences plant leadership and collaborates with Home Office EHS leadership to maintain safety and environmental standards.
Core duties include maintaining environmental compliance records, leading ISO certification and surveillance, overseeing health‑wellness initiatives, conducting injury investigations, managing OSHA 300 logs, administering the return‑to‑work and workers’ compensation programs, and running safety‑committee activities and inspections. The manager also ensures adherence to OSHA standards, company policies on equipment safety, and provides required training for first responders and equipment operators.
Required qualifications are a bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in environmental studies or a related field, plus three to five years of relevant experience. Candidates should possess a solid understanding of EPA, OSHA, state workers’ compensation and ISO regulations, strong leadership and presentation skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint. Bilingual Spanish ability is preferred but not mandatory.
Physical requirements involve lifting up to 50 lb, frequent stooping, bending and standing for up to four hours, and working in non‑temperature‑controlled environments. Communication skills via phone, email and in person are essential.
