Knowledge of relevant design standards and codes of best practice such as the Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, Active Travel Act (Wales) Guidance, and Local Authority design guidance.
The ability to use or direct the use of relevant software for example Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, Causeway and/or PDS.
A Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering, or suitable equivalent.
Working towards IEng or CEng with demonstrable progress.
Experience of complying with Designers Duties under CDM regulations.
Knowledge and experience of highway design at various stages of the project life cycle. Specific experience in any, or all, of the following areas is advantageous: highway geometry, active travel, public transport, highway drainage, road restraint systems, pavements, traffic signs and road markings, and utilities.
A passion for design and developing innovative solutions, demonstrating initiative and ingenuity to solve engineering problems.
Are well versed in the preparation of reports and drawings for transport studies, and or, construction projects.
