- Collaborate with engineers and project managers to ensure design accuracy and compliance.
- Perform field investigations and collect data for substation and distribution projects.
- Prepare permit packages and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
- Support long-term work orders assigned by substations, with projects spanning several months.
- Develop detailed asset designs using AutoCAD, MicroStation, SolidWorks, and Duke-specific platforms.
- Maintain and update asset records in Duke’s systems.

- Experience in asset design, electrical distribution, or utility infrastructure.
- Experience or knowledge in Civil, Electrical, and Mechanical Design.
- Familiarity with power system design, including substation and distribution design.
- Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Computer Engineering is preferred, but not required if the candidate has strong hands-on experience.
- Knowledge of Duke-specific platforms like BOUD, SEDs, and SolidWorks.
- Proficiency in design and drafting software, including AutoCAD and MicroStation.
- Ability to perform field engineering tasks and data collection.
