The Manufacturing Engineering Technician supports pilot‑line equipment to define new processes and transitions them to start‑up, qualification, and standard production. Responsibilities include installing and qualifying systems, troubleshooting daily manufacturing issues, and implementing improvements that boost throughput, yield, and product performance.
Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED and meet one of the following: an associate degree in a technical field, at least two years of machine or mechanic experience, one year of First Solar technical experience, or six months as a Temporary Manufacturing Engineering Technician at First Solar.
A safety‑first mindset, general electrical/electronic and mechanical knowledge, and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision are essential. Strong written and oral communication skills in English and the capability to troubleshoot both administrative and technical tasks on the manufacturing line are also required.
The role involves frequent standing, walking, and occasional climbing, with the ability to lift up to 27 lb regularly and up to 50 lb occasionally. Employees must have 20/40 vision (corrected or not), be able to wear required personal protective equipment—including respirators—and comply with all safety and housekeeping standards.
