  • Audit Preparation: Assist the Controller during annual audits by providing necessary documentation and answering audit-related questions.
  • Bank Reconciliation: Perform monthly bank reconciliations, ensuring all financial records are accurate and discrepancies are promptly addressed.
  • Internal Controls: Support the development and maintenance of internal accounting controls to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
  • Tax Compliance: Assist with preparation and filing of various tax returns, including sales tax, property tax, and income tax filings, ensuring compliance with applicable tax laws.
  • Financial Reporting Support: Assist the Controller in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and cash flow reports.
  • Accounts Payable & Receivable: Manage the accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring invoices are paid on time and collections are appropriately handled.
  • Project Cost Tracking: Assist with tracking costs associated with real estate development projects, ensuring proper allocation of expenses.
  • Budgeting & Forecasting Support: Collaborate with the Controller in preparing budgets, financial forecasts, and cash flow projections for ongoing and upcoming projects.
  • General Ledger Management: Help maintain the general ledger by ensuring all financial transactions are accurately recorded and classified.
  • Special Projects: Provide accounting support for special projects and other ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Controller.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficient in accounting software (QuickBooks, Yardi, or similar).
  • Experience: 2+ years of accounting experience, ideally in real estate or development, with familiarity in cost accounting and financial reporting.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, v-lookups, etc.).
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • Certifications (preferred): CPA or pursuing CPA designation is a plus, but not required.
  • Knowledge: Solid understanding of GAAP, tax regulations, and general accounting principles.
