CDL A Driver

Description

The driver is responsible for operating delivery vehicles and truck‑trailer combos weighing over 26,000 lb, transporting materials to customer sites, complying with safety regulations, and delivering undamaged goods on schedule.

• Load, secure, and unload materials; maneuver vehicle for safe loading/unloading and assist customers.
• Verify order details, maintain delivery logs, and reconcile items against invoices.
• Act as a customer service liaison, addressing concerns and resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain vehicle cleanliness, perform routine safety checks, and complete pre/post‑trip inspections.
• Use handheld devices for DVIR and HOS compliance; handle credit/product return pickups and paperwork.
• Operate forklift or non‑motorized material handling equipment as required.
• Follow all safety procedures, attend safety meetings, and suggest improvements.

Requirements

Work is performed in a production environment with temperature variations, hazardous chemicals, mechanical parts, noise, and dust. The role requires frequent lifting and carrying of up to 100 lb (occasionally up to 200 lb with assistance), climbing, pushing, kneeling, and operating vehicle controls safely.

• Qualifications: High School/GED, 21+ years old, valid driver’s license, Class A CDL, pass MVR, DOT medical card, 1 year delivery driving (2 years CDL preferred), basic math, English proficiency.
• Physical ability: lift/carry 100 lb frequently, up to 200 lb with assistance, climb, push, kneel, and operate vehicle controls.
