What you would be doing

- Construct and bench manholes to specification.
- Set up and safely use trench boxes, drag boxes, and manhole boxes.
- Ensure correct trench backfilling procedures are followed.
- Operate pipe lasers accurately for line and level.
- Carry out daily pre-start checks and basic maintenance on plant and equipment.
- Communicate maintenance or service requirements promptly to the site management team.
- Manage groundwater effectively, including setting up and operating appropriately sized pumps.
- Lay concrete, clay, and plastic pipes of all sizes, ensuring correct bedding, surround, and testing procedures.
- Work safely around live services using service avoidance techniques.
- Read and interpret technical drawings and relevant documentation.

- Training and upskilling tailored to specific site requirements.
- Experienced working gangs or teams are highly sought after.
- Must hold valid Right to Work in the UK.
- Sound understanding of materials and methods for underground drainage, road formation, and hard/soft landscaping.
- External Works Experience (Desirable):
- Able to collaborate effectively with other trades and support on-time project delivery.
- Reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious.
- 5-10+ years’ experience in skilled groundworks, with a strong focus on deep drainage.
- Additional CPCS/NPORS* tickets - Telehandlers, Dumpers, Rollers.
- Competitive, fair rates of pay.
- Ongoing opportunities for additional contracts and long-term project work.
