The role involves setting up, programming, operating and maintaining a range of specialized woodworking machines, including optimizing saws, finger‑jointers, four‑sided moulders, dowel‑laminated panel drills, transfer conveyors and CNC equipment. The incumbent will read and interpret blueprints and production schedules to determine job specifications, monitor product quality, diagnose and correct defects, and handle loading and unloading of workpieces manually or with cranes. Final product adjustments and preparation for shipping are also required.
Candidates must have at least a post‑secondary education or five years of machine‑operation experience in wood processing, with timber‑machining training considered an asset. A mechanically‑inclined background such as timber machinist or millwright is preferred, along with flexibility to work any shift, including overtime and weekends. Successful completion of a pre‑employment drug and alcohol test is mandatory.
