The engineer will perform structural analysis and design for steel structures such as equipment skids, platforms, pipe racks and cable tray supports, and will design concrete foundations, retaining walls and equipment pads for static and rotating equipment. Responsibilities also include creating demolition plans, rebar schedules, material take‑offs, and structural bills of material, as well as reviewing process, piping and electrical layouts to ensure alignment with overall facility requirements. Additionally, the position coordinates structural deliverables across disciplines, integrates company standards, regulatory and municipal codes, reviews geotechnical reports, conducts QA/QC of drawings and calculations, responds to RFIs, evaluates shop and vendor drawings, and supports field activities.
NorthStar Energy Services is seeking an experienced Civil / Structural Engineer to join its Professional Engineering Consulting team. The role supports the design and engineering of civil and structural systems for energy, midstream, and petrochemical facilities, developing structural design solutions, performing engineering analyses, and ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards while collaborating closely with multidisciplinary project teams.
Candidates must hold a Bachelor of Science in Structural or Civil Engineering and a Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, preferably in Texas, with at least 10 years of total experience and a minimum of 3 years directly supporting midstream energy or petrochemical facilities. Required expertise includes steel and concrete structural design for industrial facilities, proficiency with SAP, SAFE, L‑Pile, and familiarity with Plant 3D Structure or CADWorx, as well as a solid working knowledge of relevant codes such as ACI 318, ASCE 7, AISC, IBC, OSHA, API 650, API 653, API RP 2350, NFPA 30, ASME B31.3/4/8, and Title 49 CFR Parts 190‑199. Strong analytical, organizational, problem‑solving, and excellent verbal, written and presentation communication skills are also required.
