Preparing timely, clear, and concise daily field reports, which include photographs, calculations, and associated sketches.
Observe construction operations for compliance with the project documents and applicable safety regulations.
Witness material acceptance testing such as soil/aggregate compaction, concrete, and asphalt as determined by the project.
Performing field inspections on public improvement projects that may include highway reconstruction of concrete and asphalt pavement, stormwater drainage, bridge reconstruction, pedestrian safety improvements as well as traffic signal improvements and roadway safety improvements.
Proactively communicate with the contractor and the client to progress the project in a timely manner and to meet the project goals.
Monitor contractor performance to ensure a quality finished product for the client.
Communicating and coordinating project efforts with contractors, engineers, project owners, stakeholders, project team members and the public.
Update as-built record drawings throughout the life of the project.
Perform construction estimating and item take-offs.
Performing mathematical calculations based on field measurements for the purpose of pay estimates.
Review of construction plans, details, specifications, and associated contract documents.

Working outdoors in differing work conditions, including weather, uneven ground, and within highway work zones, including close proximity to live lanes of vehicular traffic and heavy construction equipment.
Proficiency with iPads, mobile applications, and laptops.
Additional industry certifications such as: OSHA, fall protection, confined spaces, hazardous materials, bridge inspection.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (outlook, excel, word, etc.)
NICET Certification in Highway Construction Inspection
Valid Driver's License
Must be willing to work outdoors and be physically able to perform field work.
ACI Concrete Certifications
ADA Ramps, Federal-Aid Documentation, Traffic Control Coordinator
