The estimator will analyze blueprints, perform quantity takeoffs, develop conceptual cost models, obtain pricing data, review and finalize unit costs, and coordinate with architects, engineers, and A/E firms. Additional duties include cost reconciliation, benchmarking, and other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
The position supports the EWR Redevelopment program, providing high‑level cost estimates for the New EWR AirTrain, Terminal B planning, landside sitework, utilities, and airport facility relocations. The estimator works independently with PA engineers and reconciles estimates with contractor bids.
- Analyze blueprints and design documents to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Perform accurate quantity takeoffs and develop conceptual cost models using historic benchmarks.
- Source up‑to‑date pricing from databases, contractors, and suppliers for estimate inputs.
- Review and validate takeoff data in CATO, ensuring accuracy for each discipline.
- Finalize unit cost pricing reflecting current market conditions and project logistics.
- Conduct cost reconciliations between multiple estimates and explain variance drivers.
- Collaborate with architects, engineers, and A/E firms to clarify project scope.
- Provide high‑level cost estimates for EWR AirTrain, Terminal B, landside sitework, utilities, and airport facility relocations.

We are seeking a Senior MEP Estimator to join our New Jersey team. The role is on‑site at Newark Airport (EWR) for the Port Authority of New York/New Jersey, with a focus on aviation projects. Candidates with aviation experience are preferred.
A Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or a related field is required, along with at least five years of aviation experience; alternatively, fifteen years of relevant experience can substitute for the degree. Proficiency in MS Excel, on‑screen takeoff tools, and SharePoint is essential.
- Minimum 5 years aviation estimating experience (or 15 years relevant experience without a degree).
- Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying or related field preferred.
