Description

The role involves operating and managing engineering assets to prevent unplanned disruptions cost‑effectively, managing reactive work processes, and developing tools to report on asset and building performance with improvement recommendations.

• Perform routine PPM on all electrical and mechanical plant per site schedules.
• Complete reactive tasks, proactively identifying improvement areas, including concessionary stores and fabric items.
• Remedy plant faults and defects promptly to keep plant serviceable.
• Maintain suitable spares inventory and provide estimated timescales for remedial work.
• Keep the Computer Based Maintenance system (e.g., Concept, Smart Hub) up‑to‑date and close tickets with accurate data.
• Submit all paperwork for reactive and breakdown work to the contract administrator without delay.
• Prepare and use Method Statements and Risk Assessments for all tasks to ensure safe working practices.
• Keep all Smart‑responsible plant rooms locked, clean, and tidy.

The engineer will carry out PPM, reactive and breakdown work on electrical and mechanical systems, demonstrating knowledge of air‑conditioning, UPS, generators, LV systems and fault‑finding using graphical information and alarm data.

Candidates must be formally trained to City & Guilds Electrical Installations level or equivalent NVQ, and hold the 18th Edition BS7671 City & Guilds certification.
