Network Engineer

Overview

Design, implement, and maintain SRM’s enterprise network across locations.

Tasks

-Monitor network performance and capacity to resolve performance issues proactively. Utilizing tools such as Wireshark, PRTG, etc. -Engineer and maintain Layer 2 and Layer 3 architectures, including VLANs, spanning tree, link aggregation, QoS, and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP). -Ensure network redundancy and Disaster Recovery (DR) capabilities to support business continuity and high availability. -Participate in on-call rotations and provide Tier 3 escalation support for complex network incidents. -Manage LAN, WAN, and VPN infrastructures across multiple SRM locations. -Partner with field operations and plant personnel to maintain reliable connectivity for mission-critical systems. -Configure and support firewalls, routers, switches, and wireless systems. -Evaluate emerging network technologies and recommend improvements for scalability, efficiency, and modernization. -Administer and optimize wireless and satellite connectivity (enterprise Wi-Fi, cellular, 5G, millimeter wave, Starlink). -Develop and enforce firewall rules, VPN policies, and network security standards in coordination with cybersecurity teams. -Maintain documentation of network diagrams, configurations, and recovery procedures. -Contribute to a collaborative, team-oriented IT environment through communication, mentorship, and shared problem-solving. -Collaborate with system and security engineers to align network infrastructure with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, and identity-based access controls.

What You Bring

-Experience in Zero Trust, SD-WAN, or network segmentation strategies. -5+ years of experience in network engineering or related infrastructure roles. -Experience supporting identity-aware networking and integration with Microsoft Entra/AD environments. -Experience managing network redundancy, failover, and DR environments. -Hands-on experience with SonicWall firewalls, Dell Networking, and enterprise-grade hardware (Cisco, HPE, or equivalent). -Familiarity with network monitoring and analysis tools. -Experience designing and supporting wireless networks, including enterprise Wi-Fi, cellular, 5G, millimeter wave, and low-latency satellite connectivity (such as Starlink) systems. -Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. -Experience integrating Azure networking, ExpressRoute, or site-to-site VPNs in hybrid cloud environments. -Deep technical expertise in Layer 2/Layer 3 technologies, VLANs, routing, and QoS. -Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code and automation tools (Ansible, Terraform). -Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with system engineers, application teams, and field personnel. -Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent professional certification(s). -Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP) and the OSI model.
