Key accountabilities include promoting safety awareness, strictly adhering to all documented work procedures, maintaining productive workflow to ensure timely order flow, and demonstrating continuous improvement in quality and productivity. The employee is expected to actively support 5S initiatives in the machining department and participate in cross‑training programs to broaden skill sets.
Job requirements call for some sandblasting experience and strong knowledge of machine setups, including selection of speeds and feeds and making adjustments. Candidates must be able to verify part conformity using micrometers, calipers, and dial indicators, read and analyze engineering prints, and possess strong math skills. Experience with Kaizen events and lean manufacturing, clear communication, multitasking, timely escalation of production issues, and an openness to change are also essential.
The position also contributes to improvements in safety, quality, productivity, cost, and 5S within the grinding department. Compensation is based on experience, ranging from $20.00 to $24.00 per hour.
