Crane Operator - Nuclear

Description

• Operate the machine efficiently and safely.
• Identify components and controls of the machine.
• Assist with scheduled service and maintenance.
• Read and use the operator’s manual.
• Maintain a clean work area and ensure good housekeeping.
• Perform machine setup for operation.
• Identify safety equipment on specific pieces of equipment.
• Read and use all capacity charts for the machine.
• Perform general cleanup of the machine.
• Perform daily service and maintenance of the machine.

Requirements

• Availability for shift work, if needed.
• Willingness to work overtime, including shift work, weekends, and holidays as needed.
• Ability to read and write complex documents in English.
• Strategic thinking and planning for growth.
• Capacity to reason and make sound decisions.
• Ability to pass specific training and qualifications.
• Ability to understand and carry out written and oral instructions.
• Ability to support other crafts as requested.
• Ability to walk job sites and climb.
• Perform basic rigging operations.
• Capacity to think, concentrate, and focus for long periods.
• Ability to express thoughts orally.
• Prior nuclear power plant experience, highly desired.
• Visual acuity, balancing, stooping, reaching, walking, manual dexterity, grasping, feeling, hearing, talking.
• Perform craft-related math.
• Ability to pass all background and screening requirements, including drug and/or alcohol screening.
• Successful completion of all training including, Radiation Worker Training, Plant Access Training, Fitness for Duty, etc.
• Ability to work at varying heights, in cramped quarters, extreme heat and/or cold, and loud environments (above 89 decibels).
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Demonstrate proper use and interpretation of hand signals.
• Ability to obtain and maintain knowledge of technical manuals and procedures.
• Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Ability to assemble and disassemble objects and operate small equipment and power tools.
• 3+ years of experience.
• Must be able to obtain nuclear unescorted access, including fitness for duty requirements.
• Knowledge of relevant processes and procedures.
• NCCCO certifications
