The engineer will ensure safe, reliable furnace and batch‑house operations, monitor and adjust key process variables, and collaborate with quality control and raw‑material teams. They will also assist with furnace start‑ups, shutdowns, repairs, and guide maintenance personnel while maintaining strict housekeeping standards. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.
- Prioritize personal and team safety, following all policies.
- Manage batch storage, delivery, weighing, and mixing processes.
- Approve raw‑material unloading into silos together with QC.
- Analyze batch plant control data and adjust to keep the process in control.
- Control glass formation in furnace and forehearth for optimal melting.
- Adjust critical variables such as gas firing, pressure, temperature, flow, and glass level.
- Inspect furnace and forehearth regularly and address any issues.
- Support furnace changes, start‑ups, shutdowns, and repairs.
- Guide maintenance staff on batch and furnace repairs.
- Perform minor repairs and process tweaks as needed.
- Keep batch house, furnace, forehearth, and control rooms clean and organized.
- Apply prior furnace‑operations experience to daily tasks.
- Work 12‑hour rotating shifts, including days and nights, and lift up to 50 lb.

The ideal candidate has at least three years of manufacturing experience, prior furnace‑operations knowledge, and strong verbal and written communication skills. They must be able to work rotating 12‑hour shifts, lift up to 50 lb, and perform physical tasks in high‑temperature environments.
