Description

Under the direction of the Program Manager, the Appliance Load Assistant works closely with the Route Driver to fulfill daily appliance pickup appointments, acting as the primary customer contact and ensuring high‑quality service.

The assistant operates in a two‑person crew, assists with navigation and call‑ahead, documents each pickup, tracks performance against key indicators, and uses a mobile routing application to record and report activities while adhering to professional standards.

• Remove appliances from customers' homes as part of a two‑person crew.
• Provide navigational assistance, call‑ahead to customers, and document pickups.
• Meet daily, weekly, and monthly KPI targets for appliance pickups.
• Maintain professional appearance.
• Track and report pickups using a mobile device and complete required paperwork.
• Identify and recommend process improvements with the program manager.
• Perform physical tasks: bend, stoop, reach, and safely maneuver loads.

Requirements

Successful candidates demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, professional appearance, proficiency with mobile GPS tools, sound safety judgment, and the physical ability to lift 75 lb and handle loads safely; a high school diploma, background check clearance, and willingness to work flexible hours are required.

Preference is given to individuals with prior furniture or appliance delivery experience, several years of customer service, a valid driver’s license with a clean record, and familiarity with dispatch or customer‑management databases.

• Lift at least 75 lb using shoulder straps or a dolly.
• Exhibit excellent communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.
• Use mobile GPS and mapping applications proficiently.
• Communicate effectively with technical and non‑technical individuals.
• Work independently and collaboratively in a team.
• Adapt to new technology such as handheld data devices.
• Pass criminal background check and drug screening.
• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent.
• Thrive in a fast‑paced environment and meet deadlines.
• Understand safe material handling practices.
• Prefer 1 year of furniture or appliance delivery/loading experience.
• Prefer 2‑3 years of customer service experience.
• Preferred: valid driver’s license with good driving record.
• Preferred: experience with dispatch and customer‑management systems/databases.
