Overview

Design and deliver highway drainage schemes for National Highways as part of Amey Consulting.

Tasks

Working for us, you’ll be delivering sustainable infrastructure solutions that enhance life and protect our shared future -Preparation and checking of designs, calculations, drawings and documentation as part of the production of scheme deliverables that satisfy the criteria of quality, cost and programme -Managing a small, locally based single discipline technical team and taking responsibility for delivery of their workload -Contributing to the preparation of bids and general working winning function -To work in a team, producing technically sound engineering solutions -Liaising with client and supplier representatives at peer level, attending progress meetings, and responding to queries -Drive effective health and safety practices within the team -Overseeing the actions of more junior members of staff undertaking similar tasks and taking responsibility for their actions

What You Bring

-Bachelors or Masters degree in an appropriate subject or demonstrable equivalent further learning -Developed experience and expertise within Highways/Civil engineering field, probably gained in an Assistant Engineer role or equivalent -Comprehensive knowledge of drainage design processes and procedures relevant to the civil engineering discipline -Experience in undertaking project related tasks associated with health, safety and welfare, e.g. Construction (Design and Management) Regulations -Successful completion of the initial professional development leading to either Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence and to the level defined by their education -EngTech status is desirable, gained through the professional institution to which the individual is aligned -An ability to produce or oversee the production of technically sound engineering solutions, complying with all relevant technical standards and client requirements -A demonstrable commitment to their plan of actions and key dates leading to successful completion of either the professional review or end point assessment, resulting in the award of Incorporated or Chartered status or an equivalent professional licence
