Candidates will design and create full test plans and test cases to properly perform quality assurance on mobile and web‑based software applications. During the software life cycle they will execute both manual and automated test cases and report defects using tools including Jira, Panaya, and Excel. They will own the approval of releases as they approve application deliveries from build teams and create dashboards and reports to provide testing progress to Delivery Leads and Product Owners. They will oversee the entire testing effort, lead junior testers, work with engineering teams to create and extract test data, and assign test execution to other testers.
Candidates will report to the Customer Experience Technical Leader and work closely with Product Owners, Solutions Delivery Leads, Solutions Architects, and partner companies as we deliver a fresh and modern customer experience portal to Johnson Controls North America customers. They will supervise junior QA engineers and coordinate their efforts across multiple workstreams.
Lead QA Engineer Johnson Controls is searching for a highly skilled and experienced Lead QA Engineer to lead a team of quality assurance testers on ensuring quality of JCI’s internal and customer portals. The ideal candidate will have a background in testing functionality and UI/UX aspects of internal and external web and mobile applications, as well as reporting issues to build teams. Candidates will be working in an agile environment, with both onshore and offshore teammates, as well as with our leadership team, using iterative and cutting‑edge development and testing methods.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience, specializing in computer science, engineering, or a related field is required. Minimum 7+ years of quality‑assurance testing on web and mobile applications, experience leading testing teams, and mentoring junior engineers are essential. Experience building automated test cases using JMeter, Selenium, LambdaTest, and Load Runner, as well as using Jira, Azure DevOps, and Panaya, is required. Knowledge of cloud platforms (preferably Microsoft Azure), AI development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Agile/Scrum practices, and strong communication and teamwork skills are also expected.
