Participate in new product development and design for manufacturing (DFM) meetings to assist in the development of fixtures and processes.
Create, design and layout all custom fixtures, test and inspection equipment, and assembly devices.
Perform all parts of the fixture design process including material selection, creating, and reviewing part specifications, identifying fabrication methods and critical dimensions, and producing bills of sales.
Conceptualize and generate designs, detailed drawings, and models using Solid works software.
Size and specify mechanical equipment such as hydraulic and pneumatic clamps, pumps, and related components necessary for fixture design.
Work independently to create manual fixtures and collaborate with engineers to create complex, semi-automated and automated test fixtures, and manufacturing fixtures, based on requirements.
