Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior and intermediate staff.
Construction review services that include review of submittals, shop drawings, substitution requests, request for information, mock-up reviews, plant visits and witness testing.
Conduct construction contract administration services for the rehabilitation of building envelope assemblies in existing buildings.
Assessment of building envelope assemblies in existing buildings, report preparation and review of reports from technical staff members.
Attendance of meetings with the architects, contractors, trades, clients and stakeholders.
Prepare specifications and drawings from schematic design to construction documents for rehabilitation of existing projects.
Perform building condition assessments, performance audit, asset and property review/assessment, reserve fund studies, design, and coordinating various building repair(s).
Project management tasks including project set-up and team assignment, project schedule and budget management, project delivery, invoicing and collections.
Building envelope design review of the architectural drawings and specifications for new construction projects.
Business development tasks including strategic growth initiatives, marketing of services and liaison with clients, building strong client relationships, and generating new business.
Staff management tasks including hiring of new staff, team building, professional development, and performance evaluations.

Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with clients and co-workers.
An excellent team builder with the ability to motivate people.
University degree in a related field of study such as Civil Engineering, Architecture, or Building Science.
Ability to work effectively in a high demand and fast-paced environment.
In-depth knowledge of standards and guidelines related to building envelope systems and assemblies.
10-15 years of technical experience in building science with proven ability to manage projects and help facilitate business development.
Experience in residential, commercial and institutional sectors is required.
Knowledge of the NECB and energy standards.
P. Eng. designation in an asset.
Staff management experience.
Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle is required for site visits.
Experience in building envelope condition assessments, preparation of rehabilitation specifications and drawings, tendering process and contract administration and construction review services during construction.
Experience in new construction projects providing sub-consultant design review services for building envelope assemblies.
Leadership skills are a requirement.
