Solar PV Inspections Manager

We are seeking a Solar PV Inspections Manager to oversee the delivery and quality assurance of residential solar photovoltaic (PV) installations under national grant and retrofit schemes. The role combines technical expertise, operational management, and reporting responsibilities, ensuring inspections are completed to the highest standards while supporting Ireland’s renewable energy and climate action goals.

• Represent the program in meetings, training, and stakeholder engagements where required.
• Review inspection appeals and make fair, evidence-based recommendations.
• Track performance metrics, SLA compliance, and inspection timelines, ensuring continuous improvement.
• Provide technical guidance to staff, contractors, and applicants on solar PV installations.
• Prepare periodic reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly) on inspection results, contractor compliance, and program performance.
• Ensure customer appointments with homeowners are fulfilled and service levels maintained.
• Monitor contractor performance and recommend improvements to inspection processes and technical standards.
• Support onboarding and training of new staff.
• Oversee the completion, accuracy, and timeliness of all inspection documentation.
• Manage inspection teams (both office-based technical staff and field inspectors) to ensure targets and KPIs are achieved.

• Proven experience managing technical staff or inspection teams.
• Knowledge of national energy retrofit or renewable grant schemes.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows-based systems.
• Previous experience in quality management or compliance monitoring.
• Experience liaising with contractors, homeowners, and regulatory bodies.
• Strong judgment and problem-solving skills, particularly in customer-facing situations.
• Strong technical knowledge of electrical installations, particularly solar PV.
• Full, clean driving licence.
• Ability to work flexibly within evolving program requirements.
• Excellent communication and report-writing skills.
• FETAC Level 6 qualification (or equivalent) in a construction-related trade or discipline (e.g., Electrical, Engineering).
