Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor

• Supporting the development and implementation of ESH&S management systems across Southern and United Utilities regions.
• Hosting external auditors when required.
• Preparing monthly reports and compiling client-specific HSE documentation.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of HSE processes and documentation.
• Reviewing risk assessments, method statements, and safe systems of work.
• Monitoring compliance and contributing to performance reporting and KPIs.
• Leading and supporting incident investigations.
• Representing the ESH&S team in client meetings and preparing reports and presentations.
• Assessing supplier and subcontractor competencies.
• Conducting inspections, audits, and joint site visits with clients and supply chain partners.
• Delivering toolbox talks, training sessions, and PowerPoint presentations.

✅ NEBOSH Construction or General Certificate

✅ Strong knowledge of current HSE legislation and best practices

✅ Proficient in Microsoft Office and HSE-related systems

✅ Confident presenter with the ability to engage all levels of the organisation

✅ Physically able to access sites (work at height, confined spaces, ladders)

✅ Excellent communication and report writing skills

✅ Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel/stay overnight as needed

✅ Environmental qualification or demonstrable environmental experience

• GradIOSH or working towards CMIOSH
• Experience with Joint Ventures or complex infrastructure projects
• Previous experience in the water/utilities sector
