Search for and eliminate organizational weaknesses and jobsite conditions that create conditions for error.
Responsible for welding and fabrication of pipe spools, flanges, fittings and structural items
Provide recommendations for improvements
Provide coaching and guidance to junior Mechanical Maintenance Technicians.
Participate in regular training to improve performance, acquire professional licenses, and maintain certification required by Ormat and government regulations.
Process work orders, assist in inventory, and requisitioning of parts and supplies
Troubleshoot, repair and maintain mechanical equipment as required to support plant operations
Periodically observe fellow maintenance technicians while performing work activities to ensure proper procedures, techniques, and safety guidelines are being followed.
Perform routine and preventative maintenance tasks
Strictly adhere to and enforce safety procedures as required by ORMAT, CAPP, and OSHA
Perform environmental and general housekeeping duties

Must be able to work in confined spaces, heights exceeding 10 feet, and in harsh weather conditions
Ability to methodically troubleshoot mechanical equipment and systems.
Protective equipment must be worn in the performance of some duties
Must be able to work weekends and holidays when necessary
Must be able to travel extensively to other locations, including rural areas to work on other projects
Must be able to climb ladders, climb to and work off of elevated platforms, ladders and walkways
Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner
The ability to lift a minimum of 20 pounds in awkward positions and 75 pounds from the floor to the waist
Must have the ability to read, write and speak English at a level that will permit the employee to understand and communicate information in a manner that will enable the employee to safely and efficiently perform the job duties
Must be able to operate a forklift, crane, rig loads and/or a backhoe
The ability to read technical documentation such as piping and instrumentation diagrams, one-line diagrams, and design and analysis reports.
One (1) year of experience in the mechanical maintenance or other relevant field
Must possess at any time a valid driver’s license with a driving record acceptable to ORMAT’s auto insurance carrier
Hands-on experience in operations, maintenance and project implementation related to power production, turbine-generators, and auxiliary equipment.
Must be able to operate a vehicle in a safe manner, enter and exit vehicle without assistance, remain alert while driving for continuous period of time and read and understand maps
Ability to respond to emergency calls
The ability to understand procedures and instructions specific to the areas of assignment as would be acquired in three to four years of high school
Must be able to use and acquire knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spread sheets, database and presentation. Must be proficient in MS Word, Excel, Power Point and use of the Internet
Job requires sitting and/or standing for long periods of time with moderate bending, stooping, and kneeling
May be required to obtain a Class B or Class A CDL – Tank Endorsement
Must be able to work overtime as required
