Arrange preparation of all necessary models, drawings and documents for a project within defined area of responsibility.
Prepare contract start up information if so directed or supplement the existing material if inadequate
Ensure the use of Document Management procedures (i.e. BIM360Docs) across the team and projects, in line with company procedure.
Arrange the checking of all drawings, models, material lists, calculations and other documents within area of responsibility to ensure that satisfactory standards are maintained. Ensure that all drawings and documents have signatures present as specified in the Procedures
Direct participation in the work associated with enquiries and contracts and responsibilities for the maintenance of technical excellence
Assist in training of new designers and/or trainees.
Control of and reporting on all work allocated by the Section Leader, including the control of the programme and the day to day management of the Team members.
Liaise as necessary with the engineers and/or technicians to obtain the most suitable interpretation of design requirements
Ensure that all members of the CAD team are aware of what is required of them and that the information provided to them is correct and up to date
Embed “Safety by Design” principles in all activities, including managing safety through appropriate life cycle designs that minimise risks to personnel and property, by ensuring that Health & Safety Regulations and Balfour Beatty procedures and requirements are followed in the design of foundation or geotechnical works.
Organise, supervise and monitor the progress of allocated project works
Participate in the development of all software tools and process, and in particular, the introduction of new facilities and their use by other members.
