Manage, prepare and submit planning applications and processes from inception through delivery to commissioning. This includes pre-planning consultations, preparation or management of planning applications and reports and responding to further information requests.
Provide planning appraisals of proposed projects, identifying and mitigating planning risk where possible.
Contribute to safeguarding of project/client. Implement and operate the safeguarding process, in conjunction with existing stakeholders and governance.
Manage appeals and responses to third party appeals, plan compliance and other statutory planning processes as may be required.
Identify areas of policy interest and prepare submissions on relevant planning, environmental or governmental policy.
Formulate and implement effective planning strategies. Provide planning opinions on the requirement for planning permission. Undertake planning site assessments.
Collate, analyse, and interpret a range of socio-economic, demographic, policy, and related material in support of development proposals and policy change.
Work with internal and external stakeholders to achieve consensus, overcome or mitigate challenges, and to achieve project objectives.
Prepare reports, presentations and other communications to internal and external stakeholders and senior management on progress, updates, risk items and planning strategies.

Ability to effectively engage with and manage relationships with various stakeholders, including customers, regulatory bodies, and internal teams.
Excellent verbal and report writing skills and the ability to communicate clearly with others.
Minimum 5 years' experience in a similar Town planner role.
Ability to work within a team and share knowledge to create optimal planning routes and delivering on team objectives.
Ability to work in complex planning, environmental and land acquisition areas with great attention to detail and an interest in delivering capital infrastructure projects.
Experience delivering consent for infrastructure projects; linear projects particularly desirable.
Excellent attention to detail.
Good IT, administration, and organisational skills.
Excellent understanding and knowledge of Irish planning legislation, planning and environmental guidance, and applicable planning policy.
