Establish, document, and maintain internal controls and accounting policies
Coordinate with external auditors, tax advisors, and lenders as needed
Oversee cash management processes and ensure proper controls over disbursements and banking activity
Lead and develop accounting staff; set expectations, review performance, and support professional growth
Manage intercompany accounting, consolidations, and eliminations
Partner with property management, asset management, and leadership to provide financial insight and decision support
Prepare and review GAAP-compliant financial statements and supporting schedules
Support system optimization and process improvements across accounting platforms
Manage and oversee accounting operations across multiple legal entities, including operating properties, development entities, and corporate structures
Oversee property-level accounting, including rent revenue, CAM reconciliations, accruals, and operating expense allocations
Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closes
