The Survey Project Manager role is central to Atwell’s survey group, overseeing projects of varying size and complexity in residential/commercial land development and renewable energy. The manager works with a collaborative office and field team, guiding projects from inception through completion in an entrepreneurial environment.
- Lead drafting, review, and finalization of site plans and construction documents
- Review survey data using the latest technology and industry software
- Analyze site conditions, legal descriptions, ALTA surveys, easements, and condo documents
- Plan, organize, and supervise survey crews, technicians, and office staff
- Oversee large‑scale ALTA surveys for solar or wind power generation projects
- Provide construction services and guide junior staff on permits, cut sheets, quantity estimates, transmittals, and document sets
- Complete assignments with AutoCAD Civil 3D and related engineering software within standards and budgets
- Attend paid training, conferences, and networking events
- Mentor staff, develop new‑hire training plans, and administer spot bonuses and peer‑recognition rewards

Candidates must hold a Professional Survey License and bring at least eight years of survey industry experience, along with the ability to coach and develop a growing team. Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D, Trimble Business Center, and advanced knowledge of boundary, ALTA, and construction staking surveys is preferred.
- Hold a Professional Survey License (PLS or PSM) with 8+ years of survey experience
- Ability to coach, mentor, and develop a growing team
- Experience with Trimble Business Center and AutoCAD Civil 3D preferred
- Advanced knowledge of boundary surveys, ALTA surveys, construction staking, leveling, traversing, GPS data collection, legal descriptions, plan interpretation, and real‑estate documents
