Sales Manager - South India

Description

• Achieve sales targets by developing and executing strategies to drive revenue growth.
• Conduct market research & competitor analysis to stay ahead in the industry.
• Expand and strengthen regional dealer & distributor networks to increase sales coverage.
• Develop pricing strategies aligned with company policies and market conditions.
• Address customer concerns, provide after-sales support, and nurture long-term relationships.
• Negotiate contracts and pricing terms to ensure profitable and sustainable partnerships.
• Manage the entire sales cycle, from lead generation to closing deals and post-sales support.
• Prepare and present weekly/monthly sales reports, forecasts, and market insights to management.
• Formulate sales plans for market penetration and establish strong brand positioning.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with channel partners, distributors, and key stakeholders.
• Work closely with the marketing, product, and logistics teams to align sales initiatives.
• Ensure timely collection of payments and manage credit control within company guidelines.
• Train and support junior sales team members in developing their skills.
• Provide technical and commercial consultation to customers on solar PV modules and related solutions.
• Attend industry events, trade shows, and networking sessions to expand market reach.
• Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth project execution and customer satisfaction.
• Identify and develop new business opportunities, including EPCs, developers, distributors, and key accounts in the region.

Requirements

We are looking for an experienced Sales Manager to drive sales growth, manage key accounts, and expand our market presence in the South India region. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in solar PV module sales, strong leadership skills, and the ability to develop and execute strategic sales plans. This role requires expertise in business development, channel management, and customer relationship building within the renewable energy industry.

• Experience in B2B sales, channel development, and large-scale project sales.
• Market intelligence & competitor analysis to drive strategic decision-making.
• Strong knowledge of solar PV modules, BOS components, and the renewable energy sector.
• Self-motivated with problem-solving abilities & decision-making skills.
• MBA in Sales/Marketing (preferred but not mandatory).
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to develop long-term partnerships.
• Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Renewable Energy) or Business Management. (preferred but not mandatory)
• Excellent knowledge of international trade, pricing structures, and contract negotiations.
• Willingness to travel extensively within the South India region.
• Strong business development & negotiation skills.
• 5+ years of experience in Sales Management, with at least 3 years in the Solar PV industry.
• Ability to build, manage, and expand regional sales networks.
• Proven ability to meet and exceed sales targets in a competitive market.
