Join our Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team at SEMCO as a Financial Analyst, where you will serve as a vital contributor in a collaborative support role. You will own the preparation, reporting, and ongoing updates of budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses related to operations and maintenance (O&M) expenditures, turning financial data into meaningful insights and building partnerships across the business.
In this role you will partner with operational teams to communicate financial results and projections, prepare clear and actionable reports, and conduct regular meetings to gather updates, review actuals, and support the annual budgeting process. You will also collaborate closely with accounting to research and explain variances, ensure proper usage of data structures and the chart of accounts, and resolve financial inquiries while fostering strong relationships with finance colleagues and cross‑functional partners.
The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting or a related field (or a master’s degree in place of one year of experience) and brings at least three years of experience in finance, accounting, or budgeting/forecasting. You must be skilled at interpreting and presenting financial data in a digestible way, creating engaging visual presentations, and have solid knowledge of financial statements, US GAAP, and advanced Microsoft Excel, with familiarity in JD Edwards considered a plus.
We offer a competitive salary ranging from $68,000 to $98,750 per year, commensurate with experience, education, and skills, along with a comprehensive benefits package that includes health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off from day one, incentive bonuses, holiday pay, and 401(k) matching for U.S. hires.
