The Recreation Coordinator assists in planning and supervising the facility’s recreational program, coordinating daily leisure activities such as athletic games, print shop, craft shop, or other hobby programs for inmates/residents. They also support the overall program by supervising participants in line with the facility security plan and ensuring activities follow the building schedule.
The role includes maintaining physical inventories of supplies, tools, and equipment to prevent waste, loss, and damage, and ordering replacements promptly within purchasing guidelines. It also involves arranging appropriate equipment and facilities, monitoring safety and sanitation of recreational areas, and preparing required reports, including safety, accident, and statistical documentation, while taking appropriate action during serious incidents or emergencies.
