The role involves working on a wide range of transportation planning projects, including traffic and transit microsimulation, multimodal corridor studies, demand‑management plans, signal warrants, and bicycle‑pedestrian facility design. Candidates will use tools such as Synchro, HCS, IHSDM, VISSIM, Transmodeler, ArcGIS, and SIDRA to create and evaluate improvement alternatives, conduct macro‑ and micro‑simulation analyses, and refine conceptual designs. They will also analyze field‑collected data with spreadsheets and advanced software, assist with public outreach for corridor studies, and develop future traffic projections following agency‑specific methodologies. Findings will be documented in technical reports that are accessible to diverse audiences.
Applicants should hold a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET‑accredited program, a Master’s in Urban Planning from a PAB‑accredited institution, or a related degree. Any experience in the transportation field, particularly in traffic modelling, is considered a plus. Strong technical writing, analytical, and problem‑solving skills are essential, as is proficiency with software tools such as Synchro, HCS, VISSIM, PowerBI, or ArcGIS. A valid U.S. driver’s license is required.
Professional registration such as Engineer‑in‑Training (E.I.) or Engineer‑Intern (E.I.T.) is preferred.
