Geotechnical Team Lead

Description

• Lead the Dartmouth, NS Geotechnical Engineering team and be responsible for the promotion of a health and safety focused mindset, resource management processes, recruitment, career development, coaching and mentoring, and leadership development.
• Lead and manage geotechnical engineering projects with support from junior professionals and peers on the team.
• Assist in the development of the annual business plan and budget for the group.
• Lead and coordinate business development efforts and proposals.
• Develop and maintain industry relationships and visibility with current and prospective clients, subconsultants, competitor /teaming partners, and potential recruits.

Requirements

• Understanding of the infrastructure market in Atlantic Canada. In particular a thorough understanding of the key business and project drivers for developing opportunities with private industry and all levels of government.
• Licensed Professional Engineer with at least 5 years professional geotechnical/materials engineering experience including demonstrated leadership capabilities with an engineering consulting firm. Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather. • Strong leadership and business development skills, including significant experience building and maintaining productive relationships with a client base within a client account management framework. Such experience within a consulting organization is considered a strong asset.
• The ability and willingness to travel within Canada for planned meetings or conferences. The ability to travel locally within the province to respond to project specific needs or client meetings, based on project demands.
• Bachelor’s degree in Civil/Geotechnical Engineering or Geological Engineering from a recognized university
• Previous success in development and executing customer and market segment strategic plans is required.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with experience delivering high quality presentations.
