This role enables you to apply your expertise in materials, structural analysis, structural steel design, and reinforced concrete design as part of an engineering and design team. You will work on a variety of power transmission modifications and upgrades, creating calculations, design documents, and specifications to support client recommendations and reviews.
Key responsibilities include performing structural analysis and detailed design of steel frames, connections, concrete members, equipment, and foundations, as well as developing integrated structural designs and supporting calculations. You will prepare technical specifications for structural materials, conduct independent reviews of others’ work, and coordinate with engineers, project managers, clients, and suppliers to ensure complete and timely designs.
You will also review existing facilities to propose upgrades or replacements, present findings to clients and peers, and travel to client and vendor offices for design reviews, construction coordination, and field verification of designs.
The position requires a BSCE or MSCE from an ABET‑accredited program with strong fundamentals in behavior of materials, structural analysis, steel and concrete design, and at least two years of experience as a practicing structural engineer on electrical substation projects. Candidates must communicate effectively with clients, produce accurate documentation, manage assignments within budget and schedule, and be proficient with analysis tools such as MathCad, STAAD PRO, SAP2000, SAFE, RISA 3D/Floor, and familiar with IBC, ASCE 7, AISC, and ACI 318 codes. A PE license and experience designing light‑industrial structures are valued but not required.
Career development is supported through peer‑learning, knowledge‑sharing communities of practice, and a hybrid work arrangement—three days in the office and two days remote—along with a generous relocation package where applicable.
