General Manager - Exterior Restoration

Description

We are seeking an Exterior Restoration General Manager responsible for executing exterior‑only insurance repair projects, including roofing and related scopes, while ensuring compliance with carrier and TPA requirements, profitability, and customer satisfaction. The role operates in a hands‑on, lean environment, directly managing projects, subcontractors, estimating, documentation, and quality control.

• Lead and manage all exterior restoration projects from assignment through completion
• Ensure strict adherence to insurance carrier and TPA requirements for evaluation, estimating, and photo documentation
• Prepare, review, and manage accurate, defensible exterior estimates
• Source, vet, and manage subcontractors for roofing, siding, gutters, windows, and related repairs
• Schedule, monitor, and evaluate subcontractor performance for quality, safety, and timeliness
• Maintain job cost controls and review project financials to meet profitability and margin targets
• Serve as primary escalation point for exterior‑related claim, quality, or documentation issues
• Coordinate with internal teams for clean handoffs between interior and exterior scopes
• Ensure customer satisfaction and minimize disruption from exterior construction
• Establish and document standardized processes, documentation practices, and quality controls for scalability
• Comply with company policies, safety procedures, and local/state regulations
• Maintain required licenses, certifications, and qualifications for exterior restoration work

Requirements

Working conditions include job sites in varying weather, travel within the pilot market, and physical access to exterior areas such as roofs, while some tasks are performed in office or climate‑controlled environments.

• Minimum 7 years experience in exterior construction, roofing, or insurance restoration
• Direct experience managing exterior‑only insurance repair projects
• Leadership or operations experience in roofing or exterior restoration preferred
• Ability to qualify as a roofing license holder in Illinois
• Valid driver’s license; HAAG certification or equivalent preferred
• Strong knowledge of insurance carrier and TPA documentation and photo requirements
• Proficiency with Xactimate or similar estimating software
• Strong organizational, time‑management, and detail‑oriented skills
• Ability to work independently in a pilot‑stage environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously
• Physical ability to lift up to 70 lb, access roofs and exterior elevations, and perform climbing, bending, and lifting tasks
