The engineer will program vital and non‑vital processors, develop control line and route/aspect charts, and produce design plans, technical specifications, and construction estimates. Responsibilities include coordinating designs with other disciplines, attending project meetings, reviewing shop drawings, recording changes, and communicating with suppliers, contractors, and client representatives.
Candidates must hold a BA/BS in Electrical Engineering or a related field, or demonstrate equivalent education and experience, and have at least ten years of experience designing train control systems.
Preferred qualifications include a Professional Engineering license in NY or NJ and fifteen or more years of experience designing, constructing, testing, and commissioning train control systems for rail, subway, freight, light rail, or street‑car projects. Experience leading signal projects from concept through final commissioning is also desired.
