Description

Key responsibilities include supporting developers through construction activities, ensuring compliance with Construction (Design & Management) Regulations 2015 and water‑quality practices, and guaranteeing that all new assets meet Anglian Water's minimum standards before handing them over to operations. The role also requires effective stakeholder management, delivering cost‑effective solutions, contributing to Outcome Delivery Incentives such as DMeX, I2S, Water Quality and CMEX, and controlling project expenses through detailed cost reconciliation at completion.

• Manage end‑to‑end delivery of new water main installation projects for development sites in the North region.
• Coordinate with Project Delivery Coordinator, Pre‑Construction Team and contract partners to ensure efficient workflow and industry‑leading design standards.
• Ensure construction activities comply with CDM 2015 regulations and Anglian Water water‑quality practices.
• Verify that all new assets meet Anglian Water minimum asset standards and oversee handover to operations.
• Control project expenses, reconcile actual costs against budget and provide feedback on scope changes.
• Contribute to Outcome Delivery Incentives such as DMeX, I2S, Water Quality and CMEX.
• Build excellent customer relationships; negotiate and influence effectively.

Requirements

The successful candidate will hold a degree (preferably in engineering) and demonstrate strong project management and commercial awareness, along with experience in identifying and managing new business opportunities. Essential skills include a solid understanding of construction design management, excellent relationship‑building, negotiation and influencing abilities, clear communication, adaptability, strategic and analytical thinking, attention to detail, time‑management and proficiency with Microsoft Office; a background in water distribution engineering is advantageous.

• Hold a degree (preferably engineering) with strong project management and commercial awareness.
• Demonstrate experience in identifying and managing new business opportunities.
• Possess sound knowledge of construction design management and water distribution engineering.
• Communicate clearly, adapt to change and think strategically and analytically.
• Exhibit attention to detail, strong time‑management and proficiency in Microsoft Office.

The position is based in Peterborough and surrounding areas and is offered as a permanent full‑time role, with flexibility for part‑time work.
