Sr. Software Engineer – JavaScript/Python

Description

This hybrid role is based in Cincinnati, Ohio or Atlanta, Georgia within the Product Development division, which creates, tests, and improves software solutions in an innovative, collaborative environment. The Senior Engineer enhances cloud‑native web applications using next‑generation technologies such as JavaScript, React, and Python, applying modern software engineering practices and continuous delivery. The position works closely with designers and product managers to discover and build features that maximize customer value.

• Develop large‑scale enterprise cloud platforms serving multiple client applications.
• Perform performance analysis and memory utilization.
• Build reusable, efficient, testable code libraries.
• Identify and resolve issues through root‑cause analysis.
• Debug and resolve defects for assigned projects and testing efforts.
• Estimate work effort and completion time.
• Enforce coding standards among team members.
• Manage proper branching and code review processes in the repository.
• Participate in scrum ceremonies.
• Provide technological guidance to peers.
• Apply fundamental software design and delivery principles.
• Track AI advancements to enhance team capabilities.
• Use unit testing tools (xUnit/jest) and practice TDD.
• Analyze existing code, provide root‑cause analysis and remediation options.
• Lead interview processes for prospective team members.
• Lead teams in delivering complete features.
• Provide product insight to assess feature feasibility and effort.
• Mentor engineers with technical and professional guidance.
• Uphold business ethics and protect proprietary/confidential information.
• Continuously learn new technology trends and modern software engineering practices, including AI‑assisted development.

Requirements

The role involves frequent sitting, telephone communication, and extended computer work, requiring visual acuity for close‑up tasks. Team members must maintain an ergonomically appropriate remote workspace and, if within commuting distance, attend the office in a hybrid capacity as determined by the team. All employees must reside and perform work within the United States and are subject to E‑Verify verification.

• BS in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years developing web applications with JavaScript, TypeScript, React.
• 5+ years building cloud infrastructure and back‑end systems using Java or Python.
• Experience with client‑side MVVM frameworks such as React, Redux, Angular.
• Familiarity with open‑source packages and licensing.
• Expert knowledge of OOP principles, data structures, and algorithms.
• Deep understanding of Agile processes and workflow.
• Experience with Docker, including building and deploying containers to cloud.
• Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills.
• Team player able to multitask in fast‑paced environment.
• Strong problem‑solving skills to analyze situations and recommend solutions.
