Liquid Penetrant Level II - 2nd Shift

Description

The Liquid Penetrant Level II Technician is tasked with performing and evaluating liquid penetrant tests to identify surface discontinuities on various materials and components, ensuring adherence to industry standards, customer specifications, and internal quality mandates. The technician also handles equipment setup, calibration, result interpretation, and report generation.

• Perform liquid penetrant testing according to ASTM E1417, ASME, and customer procedures.
• Prepare test surfaces, apply penetrant, remove excess, apply developer, and inspect for indications.
• Interpret test results, evaluate against acceptance criteria, and document findings in inspection reports.
• Set up, calibrate, and verify functionality of PT equipment; maintain and troubleshoot as needed.
• Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
• Provide guidance and training to Level I technicians when required.
• Communicate inspection results and any nonconformities to supervisors, engineers, and customers.

Requirements

• Hold a high school diploma or equivalent; technical training or associate degree preferred.
• Certified as an ASNT Level II Technician in liquid penetrant testing (SNT‑TC‑1A or NAS‑410).
• Minimum two years’ experience testing welds, castings, steel, titanium, or aluminum using specifications such as ASTM E1417, Boeing, GE, Honeywell, and Pratt.
• Demonstrate strong analytical attention to detail, basic computer skills, and good communication abilities.
• Ability to stand, bend, or sit for extended periods and lift up to 50 lb.; work in shop‑floor or field settings.
• Eligibility for export‑controlled work: U.S. citizenship, legal permanent residence, protected‑person status, or appropriate U.S. government export authorization.

Benefits

Compensation starts at $22–$28 per hour, dependent on experience, plus a $1.00 shift differential. This is a second‑shift position working from 1:00 pm to 9:30 pm, with the opportunity for overtime.
