Mechanic

Description

Mechanics are responsible for performing maintenance and repair on construction vehicles, large equipment, and machines, ensuring reliable operation across the company’s projects.

• Maintain and repair small gas and diesel engines
• Perform preventative maintenance, including oil and fluid level checks
• Keep inventory records of repairs, parts ordered, and parts on hand
• Coordinate scheduling of repairs and preventive maintenance with operations
• Provide after‑hours support for critical timelines when needed
• Use pneumatic tools on construction equipment
• Receive weekly payroll
• Participate in paid, on‑the‑job technical training
• Work outdoors in potentially extreme weather conditions
• Perform physically demanding tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, crouching, and crawling
• Offer schedule flexibility and be prepared to stay late with little or no notice
• Operate within the “red zone” of heavy equipment
• Maintain quick hand‑eye coordination and constant alertness for safe work
• Provide valid US work authorization documents for E‑Verify
• Maintain union membership

Requirements

Work sites are outdoors and may expose employees to extreme weather. Safety procedures are communicated in English, and the role requires physical stamina and the flexibility to adjust schedules or stay late when needed, often near heavy equipment.

Candidates must satisfy pre‑employment screenings, possess the required documentation and driver qualifications, and agree to maintain union membership. • Diagnose and fix electrical problems
• Hold a High School Diploma or equivalent
• Possess general knowledge of construction‑related equipment
• Have an existing CDL or be willing to obtain a Class A CDL
• Follow English‑language safety instructions and be fluent in English
• Pass pre‑employment, random, post‑accident, and reasonable suspicion drug screens
• Achieve satisfactory results on pre‑employment background checks
• Maintain a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
