The Safety Coordinator position is located at the Hamilton St Office in Richmond, VA. Doswell Operating Group is seeking a knowledgeable Safety Coordinator to support multiple lines of business and ensure compliance with OSHA safety standards. The role aims to improve the companywide safety culture.
Candidates need at least one year of safety experience, preferably in construction, a high school diploma (associate or bachelor's degree preferred), OSHA 510 certification, and bilingual ability in English and Spanish. Strong communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills are required, along with the ability to manage multiple projects, work irregular hours, and be on call.
- Minimum 1+ year safety experience; construction background preferred.
- High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's in Safety/Environmental Science preferred.
- OSHA 510 certification required.
- Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.
- Excellent communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong written, verbal, presentation, and meeting facilitation abilities.
- Ability to build effective professional relationships with staff and project managers.
- Capability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- Flexibility to work irregular hours, be on call, and travel overnight occasionally.
- Proficiency with safety tracking software and report generation.
- Valid Virginia driver's license.
- Positive points on state driving record; no DUI/DWI or reckless conviction in past five years.
- Minimum age 21 (or company approval).
- Ability to crawl, kneel, squat, and climb.
- Able to lift up to 50 lb unassisted regularly.
- Capable of standing and walking for extended periods.
