The Service Assistant supports the Service Manager by thoroughly documenting all work performed on company‑owned equipment and vehicles. This role ensures accurate records for both equipment and vehicle maintenance activities.
Key responsibilities include ordering and tracking parts, labeling materials, managing supplies, and maintaining work and purchase orders in RentalMan and OnBase. The role also involves coordinating schedules with mechanics, ensuring accurate paperwork, and keeping warehouse inventory and cleanliness.
- Order, track, and receive parts for crane repairs and maintenance.
- Label and stage parts and materials upon receipt.
- Order shop supplies and personal protective equipment for mechanics and technicians.
- Communicate with vendors via phone and email regarding shipments and orders.
- Open and maintain work orders and purchase orders in RentalMan and OnBase systems.
- Assist the Service Manager with scheduling, paperwork accuracy, and vendor/crane file maintenance.
- Perform weekly inventory cycle counts and support annual warehouse audits.
- Maintain warehouse order and cleanliness.
- Collect timesheets and billing tickets from mechanics and technicians, verify accuracy, and submit to payroll and billing.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, have at least one year of parts‑service experience in a related industry, and be familiar with CMMS systems. Strong organizational, communication, and problem‑solving abilities, as well as moderate computer proficiency, are required.
The position demands frequent walking, lifting up to 25 lb, and the ability to see colors and depth. Work is performed outdoors and near moving mechanical parts, requiring awareness of safety hazards.
